Summer Season

We fish the Inside Passage in the waters of Johnstone Strait and Queen Charlotte Strait. The runs of mature salmon, heading to their rivers on the mainland of British Columbia or on Vancouver Island, must pass through here. This is an excellent spot for catching Tyee, as well as Coho, Pink, and Chum. Bottom catches are also good, with some of our largest Halibut caught right off our float (our record is 185 lbs.). Ling Cod are jigged in nearby Blackfish Sound.

Knight Inlet Lodge News: News 2008 - Last summer we had a good salmon return to our rivers so the bears were well fed and very active. There was lots of interaction and lots of great viewing. The Orca were exceptionally playfull. One female actually "spy-hopped" right next to one of our boats and had a "conversation" {chirped} with a couple of astounded guests. The Humpback were around most of the season with the calves doing lots of exciting leaps.
