Spring Season

Our Springtime location (mid April through June) is spent fishing the middle and upper areas of Knight Inlet as well as the many channels and bays leading into it. This season we'll be fishing in Tribune Channel. This location will allow us to take full advantage of four separate runs of fish: the resident and travelling King Salmon (we had 100% limits at this location last spring), the King salmon feeding in the upper inlet (using our new 19 foot cruiser), the resident Halibut (this is our best Halibut location), and finally, the Steelhead (caught in our near by river).

Spring Wildlife

Our spring location gives you a combination of all three species or gives you a chance to concentrate on one only. For those who have often wished to try their luck with wild steelhead, here's a great opportunity for a "sample" trip. If the river conditions aren't good you can catch Kings and Halibut while you wait for them to improve. We have included Glacier Bay and the breathtaking upper inlet area by using our 19 foot cruiser (with marine head). This boat allows us to take two or three guests at a time to fish the upper inlet's productive fishing grounds.

Knight Inlet Lodge News: News 2008 - Last summer we had a good salmon return to our rivers so the bears were well fed and very active. There was lots of interaction and lots of great viewing. The Orca were exceptionally playfull. One female actually "spy-hopped" right next to one of our boats and had a "conversation" {chirped} with a couple of astounded guests. The Humpback were around most of the season with the calves doing lots of exciting leaps.
